MC Hammer qualifies as a brilliant dancer from the year dot and as far as you’re concerned disco fox is an animal? Brilliant! Apply NOW for the 1st annual Ugly Dance World Cup. Application deadline is September 27th 2009.
5 STEPS TO UGLINESS:
- put together a strong team with 2-4 members – that’s way more nasty than alone!
- produce a simple and short movie with a horrid dance performance (approx. 40-80 seconds, one-take, you can use a snapshot camera).
- upload your video on Youtube. Important: Please name your video in the following way: 1st annual Ugly Dance World Cup + name of your team! Such as 1st annual Ugly Dance World Cup – Team Bangbus
- Please send the youtube-link, name of your team and contact information to dance@uglydanceworldcup.com.
- The ugly dance team of excellence links your video on www.uglydanceworldcup.com to share your deformedness with the world.
And that’s all! A jury selects the 9 most hideous teams which will perform live at the 1st annual Ugly Dance World Cup October 10th 2009, Club Terrace Hill in Hamburg, Germany. But there’s a Joker, too: The team which boasts the most clicks on their video between now and September 27th 2009 receives a wild card and is automatically nominated as the 10th team in the game.
On september 29th all nominated teams get informed about their participation. And now put on your dancing shoes and get lost!!!

DIE 5 SCHRITTE ZUR HÄSSLICHKEIT:
- 2-4 Teammitglieder zusammentrommeln – ist dann 2-4 mal so scheußlich!
- kurzes Video mit einer aussagekräftigen Tanzperformance drehen
(ca. 40-80 Sekunden, one-take, Kompaktkamera ist kein Problem).
Eurer Kreativität sind keine Grenzen der Hässlichkeit gesetzt. - Video bei Youtube hochladen. Wichtig: Der Name des Videos muss folgenden Titel haben: 1st annual Ugly Dance World Cup + euer Teamname! z.B. 1st annual Ugly Dance World Cup – Team Bangbus
- Youtube-Link, Teamnamen und Kontaktmöglichkeiten an dance@uglydanceworldcup.com schicken.
- Das Ugly Dance Kompetenzteam verlinkt euer Bewerbungsvideo auf www.uglydanceworldcup.com, wo es der Welt zur Schau gestellt wird.
Das war’s schon. Über das weitere Vorgehen werdet ihr regelmäßig per Mail informiert. Der Rechtsweg ist ausgeschlossen. Anklagen dürft ihr uns trotzdem. Das war’s. Eine Jury wählt aus den Bewerberteams die 9 unangenehmsten Darbietungen aus, die damit zum 1st annual Ugly Dance World Cup am 10. Oktober 2009 im Terrace Hill zu Hamburg nominiert sind. Es gibt aber auch einen Joker: Das Team, das am 27. September 2009 die meisten Klicks auf ihr Bewerbungsvideo vorweisen kann, bekommt eine Wild Card und ist somit automatisch nominiert.
Die Gewinnerteams, die beim Event live ihre Hässlichkeit unter Beweis stellen und die Chance haben, um den begehrten Weltmeistertitel zu kämpfen, werden am 29. September 2009 bekanntgegeben und von uns kontaktiert.
